Liza Ketchum is the author of seventeen books for young people, including The Life Fantastic and The Last Garden. Her books have appeared on the ALA’s Best Book lists and the New York Public Library’s 100 Titles for Reading and Sharing.
Liza grew up in rural Vermont and studied at Sarah Lawrence College. She has worked as a special education teacher in Washington, DC and lived in England for a time before returning to Vermont and starting a preschool. Liza has taught writing to students from kindergarten through high school and served as a faculty member at Hamline University’s MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults program. In addition to her work as an author, Liza is a member of Mothers Out Front and 350.org, two organizations focused on a sustainable climate future. She and her husband divide their time between Vermont and Massachusetts.
