Move Books is moving to Charlesbridge!

Charlesbridge Publishing has acquired Move Books, founded by industry veteran and powerhouse Eileen Robinson in 2011. Embracing the mission to move more boys to read with high-interest middle-grade fiction, Charlesbridge will take on the Move backlist titles, including the Lost Tribes series by Christine Taylor-Butler and Surviving Bear Island and Follow the River by Paul Greci, as well as approximately fifteen forthcoming chapter books and middle-grade novels. The company will launch a new middle-grade imprint called Charlesbridge Moves, helmed by Robinson as Editorial Director.

“Charlesbridge Moves will excite middle-grade and chapter-book readers with adventure, mystery, and fun, giving them the confidence to read more. Whether told through traditional prose, verse, or graphic novel elements, our books grow and sustain an appetite for reading, especially with boys and reluctant readers,” says Robinson.

After building Reycraft Books, an imprint of Benchmark Education focused on diverse content and creators, to more than 150 titles, Robinson moved to Charlesbridge in early October to develop Charlesbridge Moves, which will launch sometime in 2024. Robinson will also edit board books and picture books for the Charlesbridge list as Executive Editor.

“Eileen Robinson’s vision and energy are a perfect match for the work we’ve been doing at Charlesbridge to elevate diverse creators and content and reach readers of all backgrounds. Eileen’s expertise and market savvy will give a strong direction and focus to our middle-grade program,” says Yolanda Scott, VP & Publisher at Charlesbridge.

Charlesbridge is sold and distributed through Penguin Random House Publisher Services, and the Move backlist titles will be available through PRH starting on April 1, 2023.
