Illustrator Katherine RoundtreeKatherine Roundtree discovered her artistic talent in a commercial art vocational course in high school. She was awarded a four-year scholarship to Columbus College of Art and Design, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She was also the recipient of the second place award in the Society of Illustrators Amateur Contest.

As a student artist for the Citizens Committee on Youth in Cincinnati, Ohio, Katherine started painting murals. She single-handedly painted a 20 x 150 foot mural at the Cincinnati Park Commission. She also painted "The Bicentennial Mural" for the Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company.

Katherine is the illustrator of several children's books, including three books by Virginia Kroll: A Carp for Kimiko, Jaha and Jamil Went Down the Hill, and Wood-Hoopoe Willie.

Katherine lives in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
