Katherine Brown-Wing studied at the Art Institute of Boston. She works as a biological illustrator and her pictures have been published in numerous scientific journals. She is also the illustrator of What Seahorse Saw and Living Lights: Creatures That Glow in the Dark. Katherine lives in North Kingstown, Rhode Island with her husband.
