Unit 3: Reading Maps and Globes
Interpret maps and globes by
identifying the function of a compass rose and a map legend
locating states, cities, state capitals, and oceans on a political map
measuring distances between cities by using a bar scale
combining information on political maps with special purpose maps showing rainfall and climate regions
reading latitude and longitude lines on a globe
measuring distances north and south of the equator, and east and west of the prime meridian
Unit 4: Using Time Lines to Make Inferences about History
Understand the purpose of historical and biographical time lines by
placing consecutive events in a sequence on a time line
